Winchester Model 1892 Saddle-ring Carbine
This is Pixelwiz's vintage Winchester Model 1892 saddle-ring carbine in .44 WCF, made in 1917. All the finish is gone and the wooden stocks have plenty of "character," but the bore is super bright and clean — there's no pitting at all — and the action is very nice and smooth. I had a gunsmith recrown the muzzle to remove a sizable ding, but that's the only work that's been done on it. At "Cowboy ranges" this little carbine shoots great, but the couple times I've tried it at any distance it shoots several inches low (like 6+), even with full blackpowder loads. I'll have to see if I can spend some time on the range with it and try to figure that one out.
